HIRING OF SHORT-TERM CONSULTANT FOR BIO-MECHANICS LAB

USING QUALITY BASED SELECTION (QBS) METHOD

Objective

The Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) invites applications for hiring a short-term consultant with expertise in establishing and operationalizing a Biomechanics Lab. The goal is to meet international standards and integrate advanced sports science practices within the PSB framework.

Scope of Work

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Assessment:

    • Conduct a detailed evaluation of current infrastructure, equipment, and human resource needs for setting up the Biomechanics Lab.

  2. Implementation Plan:

    • Develop a comprehensive plan, including:
      • Layout design.
      • Required repairs.
      • Equipment procurement.

  3. Equipment and Calibration:

    • Oversee procurement, installation, and calibration of biomechanics equipment and software, ensuring international compliance.

  4. Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs):

    • Develop and implement SOPs for the lab's operations.

  5. Training:

    • Provide technical training to PSB staff on biomechanics tools, techniques, and data analysis.

  6. Operational Model:

    • Design a sustainable model for lab operations, covering:
      • Maintenance.
      • Budgeting.
      • Staffing.

  7. Reporting:

    • Submit progress and final reports with actionable recommendations for optimizing lab functionality.

  8. Operationalization:

    • Ensure the Biomechanics Lab meets international standards.
    • Oversee infrastructure renovations, equipment procurement, and installation.
    • Ensure safety and operational standards compliance.

Job Description

  • Position Title:
    Short-term Consultant – Bio-Mechanics Lab.

  • Reporting to:
    Director General, Pakistan Sports Board (PSB).

Eligibility Criteria

1. Educational Qualification:

  • Preferred: PhD in Biomechanics, Sports Science, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum: Master’s degree (16 years of education) in the same fields with exceptional experience.

2. Experience:

  • Proven experience in setting up and managing Biomechanics Labs.
  • Expertise in advanced sports science tools and technologies.
  • Demonstrated ability in managing a sports science laboratory, including state-of-the-art biomechanics and technologies for:
    • Sports injury prevention.
    • Sports injury management.

3. Skills:

  • Strong expertise in biomechanics equipment, motion capture systems, and sports data analysis.
  • Proven track record in training and mentoring staff.
  • Excellent project management and communication skills.
