GOVERNMENT OF THE PUNJAB – AGRICULTURE DEPARTMENT

SITUATION VACANT

Applications are invited from eligible candidates domiciled in Punjab for recruitment on a contract basis under the development project:

“Revamping of Agricultural Research in Punjab (2025-26 to 2027-28)”
under the Chief Scientist Agriculture (Research), AARI, Faisalabad.

Vacancies and Eligibility

2 Research Associate (Genomic Selection) PPS-09 Max 40 years PhD in Molecular Biology, Genomics, Agricultural Biotechnology OR MSc (Hons) in Molecular Biology, Genomics, Agricultural Biotechnology At least 3 years experience in genome editing / genetic engineering; 5+ HEC recognized research publications. Preference for candidates with foreign experience.
3 Research Associate (Germplasm) PPS-09 Max 40 years PhD in Plant Breeding & Genetics OR MSc (Hons) in Plant Breeding & Genetics At least 3 years experience in relevant field; 5+ HEC recognized research publications. Preference for candidates with foreign experience.
4 Finance Expert PPS-06 Max 40 years MBA (Finance) or equivalent At least 5 years experience in relevant field.

Important Notes / Instructions

  1. No relaxation in the upper age limit will be granted.

  2. For candidates with other relevant degrees, HEC/Competent Forum equivalence certificate must be provided.

  3. Contract appointments are temporary, non-transferable, post-specific, non-pensionable, and do not confer any right for regularization. Initial contract period is 1 year, extendable up to the project duration with competent authority approval.

  4. Any change in project period (reduction or extension) will amend the contract appointment accordingly.

  5. Recruitment will be strictly merit-based across Punjab, according to PC-I approved selection & eligibility criteria.

  6. Applications must be submitted on the prescribed form (downloadable from www.agripunjab.gov.pk) and addressed to:
    Secretary Agriculture, Government of the Punjab, 21-Davis Road, Lahore.
    Applications should include:

    • Curriculum Vitae (CV)

    • Three recent passport-size photographs

    • Attested copies of all relevant documents (educational certificates with detailed marks, CGPA, Hafiz-e-Quran certificate, position in Board/University, release orders for ex-servicemen, etc.)
      Applications must reach by 25th February 2026. Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.

  7. Applications can also be submitted online via www.jobs.punjab.gov.pk. However, submission of hard copy with attested documents is mandatory.

  8. List of eligible candidates will be displayed on the Notice Board 3 days prior to the interview, along with interview call letters. For queries, candidates may contact the Additional Secretary (Planning), Agriculture Department, Lahore at least two days prior to interview.

  9. Lists of successful candidates will be displayed on the Notice Board after approval of the Department Selection/Recruitment Committee.

  10. Competent authority reserves the right to increase or decrease the number of posts.

  11. Selected candidates under the project are not entitled to pay protection or regularization.
