Advisor – Cultural Heritage Management Plan (CHMP)

WAPDA invites applications from qualified and experienced professionals for the position of Advisor – Cultural Heritage Management Plan (CHMP) for the Diamer Basha Dam Project (DBDP) located in Chilas.

Eligibility Criteria

Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in:

    • Architecture

    • Archaeology

    • Conservation Studies

    • Heritage Management

    • Civil Engineering

  • Degree must be from an HEC-recognized university.

  • In case of a foreign degree, HEC verification is mandatory.

Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in:

    • Restoration and renovation of historical buildings and heritage sites.

Tenure

  • Appointment will be made on a contract basis initially for 02 years.

  • Contract may be extended on a yearly basis subject to:

    • Satisfactory performance

    • Organizational requirements

Pay Package

  • Competitive, market-based lump sum package, commensurate with qualification and experience.

  • The position shall not be regularized at any stage.

Mandate / Charter of Duties

The selected candidate will be responsible for:

  1. Assisting the Authority in implementation of the Cultural Heritage Management Plan (CHMP).

  2. Providing technical oversight for restoration and renovation works at Chilas Fort, including its adaptive reuse for establishment of a museum.

  3. Coordinating with contractors involved in dam activities within the direct and indirect impact areas of rock carvings.

  4. Liaising with Federal and Provincial Government departments regarding implementation of CHMP.

  5. Monitoring and evaluating activities related to CHMP.

  6. Performing any other task assigned by the Authority.
