Call for Applications: Access to Scientific Instrumentation Program (ASIP) 2025-26

The Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan invites applications under the Access to Scientific Instrumentation Program (ASIP) for the year 2025-26. This program provides financial support to PhD scholars enrolled in public sector universities in Pakistan, enabling access to advanced scientific and analytical facilities at labs of public sector universities or R&D organizations nationwide. The initiative aims to promote high-quality research and ensure the timely completion of doctoral studies.

Eligibility Criteria

  1. Applicants must be PhD students enrolled in public sector universities of Pakistan.

  2. The research synopsis/proposal must be approved by the competent university forum (Ethical Review Board, Advanced Studies & Research Board, Directorate of Research, etc.).

  3. Applications must be submitted at least twelve (12) weeks prior to sample analysis.

  4. Applicants may only request tests not available in their own university/institute.

  5. If the test equipment exists in the applicant’s institute but is not being used, a detailed justification for accessing facilities at another institute/university must be provided.

  6. Each supervisor may recommend a maximum of four (04) ASIP applications per fiscal year.

Key Features of the Program

  • Funding Limit: Maximum funding of PKR 200,000 per applicant per year (July 1 to June 30).

  • Multiple Applications: Applicants may submit multiple requests, but total disbursement cannot exceed PKR 200,000 per year or three disbursements during the entire PhD program.

  • Test Location: Tests must be conducted at public sector universities or R&D organizations.

  • Payment: HEC will make payments directly to the service provider after successful completion of analysis.

  • Application Period: Applications are accepted throughout the year via the online portal.
