Workshops on Research Skills Held At Punjab University Hailey College of Banking and Finance

A two-day workshop has been concluded today at Punjab University Hailey College of Banking and Finance to train participants in development of research articles of international standards and their publications. Dr. Zubair Ali Shahid, Assistant Professor at Iqra University, Karachi and Dr. Irfan Tariq, Lecturer at The University Adelaide, Australia handled the sessions. The critics of the workshop gave a detailed explanation to participants regarding perquisites and process of selection criteria of international level research papers and scholarly work.
The professors explained the few most important factors missed while developing researc h papers, made participants understand requirements and how to tackle hindrances while gathering information and knowledge. An interactive penal discussion with HCBF Principal Prof. Dr. Mubbsher Munawar Khan also occurred during the workshop sessions. The purpose of organizing this workshop session was to teach participants and enhance their understanding regarding research. The participants were allowed to ask their queries to the panelists at end of the session.

The Punjab University Lahore Creates Baba Guru Nanak Research Chair 

Punjab University Lahore has become first university of Pakistan ever to create Guru Nanak research chair to promote the message of peace taught by Baba Guru Nanak. The inaugural ceremony of Guru Nanak Research Chair held at the Punjab University's Oriental College, New Campus on Tuesday. The Vice-Chancellor Dr Niaz Ahmad was the chief guest of the ceremony.
The Punjab University Spokesman Khurram Shahzad told the press, ‘The Punjab University Lahore has created the Baba Guru Nanak research chair. This research chair is the first ever initiative of any university in Pakistan. Research on the teachings of Guru Nanak will be carried by students. It was demand of the Sikhs and academia also felt the need of promoting message of tolerance of Guru Nanak in the society. The Professor of the chair will carry out the research work and give supervision to students of Punjab University's Oriental College.’  
Mr. Khurram Shehzad said the Sikh delegation had also demanded for establishment of this research chair in Pakistani University. The research chair will play a vital role in promoting the message of peace spread by Sikh spiritual leader Baba Guru Nanak.

World Punjabi Congress Chairman Fakhar Zaman Urged PTI Government to Establish Punjabi University in Lahore

World Punjabi Congress Chairman Fakhar Zaman has urged the Government of Pakistan to convert Punjab Institute of Language, Art, & Culture (PILAC) into first ever Punjabi University of Pakistan. He made this request while speaking at Punjabi Department of Govt College University. He said Punjabi language should be included as medium of instruction at primary level classes.
He said the use of archaic and unfamiliar Punjabi words should be discouraged. He dismissed the Unesco report stating that Punjabi language will go extinct in next thirty years. The language of Sufis can never be vanished he said. The World Punjabi Congress held in 1986 has internationalized Punjabi language back then and it has organized over 25 conferences around the world to promote Punjabi culture and preserve Punjabi language Fakhar Zaman elaborated the audience.
