University of Health Sciences (UHS) and University of Engineering and Technology (UET), Lahore will plan a joint strategy to conduct online entry tests for admissions to medical and engineering universities across the province.
This decision was taken in a meeting between Vice Chancellor of UET Prof Syed Mansoor Sarwar and Vice Chancellor of Prof Javed Akram on Thursday. The meeting was also attended by UHS Registrar, Controller Examinations, senior staff as well as faculty.
UET To Hold Online ECAT Entry Test In Partnership With VU
The Vice Chancellor of UET informed regarding the arrangements of ECAT test 2020 for admissions to engineering colleges and universities across the province. In the meeting, he informed stated that because of corona virus, UET will hold online ECAT entry test this year in collaboration along with Virtual University of Pakistan.

He further added that 33,000 applicants will attempt their tests on computer rather than paper in different shifts from August 3rd to August 6th 2020. The mock test in this regard will be conducted on July 27th and 28th, he added.
More than 80,000 To Appear in MDCAT This Year
VC of UHS said that this year online conduct of MDCAT was being considered as an option because of the current situation. However, the final decision in this regard was to be taken by government at federal and provincial level taking all participants on board, he said. UHS will definitely get advantage from the experience of UET in this manner, he added.
In the meeting he also said that, almost 80,000 applicants were expected to appear in MDCAT this year. And was a regulatory requirement to hold entrance tests for admission in medical colleges and universities. But the safety of applicants was the top priority, he added.
UHS Announces To Submit Joint Proposal For Entry Test To HEC
UHS VC also said that joint proposal for the online entry test will be made and submitted to HEC for approval as well as financial support. He also insisted to make Punjab University a partner in this project.
