Today, on January 04th, 2021 the government of Pakistan has announced the reopening schedule of the educational institutes from across the country. The federal education minister, Shafqat Mehmood has announced in today’ conference that the educational institutes will reopen in phases and the following is the detailed schedule of the reopening of educational institutes:
Reopening Of Schools (Pre to 8th Classes): January 25th, 2021
Reopening Of Schools (09th to 12th Classes): January 18th, 2021
Reopening Of Universities: February 1st, 2021.
The government has decided to reopen the educational institutes in different phases to contain the spread of the disease and until the reopening of the higher education institutes, the institutes can start the online classes. However, through a separate press conference, Dr. Muraad Ras addressed that 50% of students will appear in the educational institutes in one day and the next 50% of students will come on the next day.
Moreover, it has also been decided that the educational institutes will follow all the precautions and SOPs strictly to contain the spread of the disease and to protect themselves and others. He also said that the educational institutes are not opening because the Covid-19 situation has improved. But, the institutes are opening to save the educational loss and the academic year of the students.
Examination Schedule 2021
During the conference, it has also decided that the boards’ examinations are postponed to May and June. However, the examination schedule of the higher education institutes will be organized by their own specific rules that may be arranged under the influence of the Higher Education Commission, HEC.
