Lahore: The aspirants of Global Institute Lahore staged a protest on Monday against the management of their institute because it failed to issue the degrees for the courses they had completed.

The protesters felt that they were being victimized and defrauded.

During the protest outside the Lahore Press Club, the aspirants said they had submitted millions of rupees in fees and were now being denied degrees or records.

They furthermore said that the provincial and federal higher education commissions (HECs) had doubts over the authenticity of the educational institute.

The partakers stressed they had invested a lot of time and money, however were now left with no other option, but to begin a distress.

While protesting, a protestor, Asad Islam, said that he had studied for 5 semesters and was given a story by the institute on different occasions. An aspirant claimed that the administration had told him transcripts will be issued and there was no requirement for concern.

“Moreover, the Higher Education Commissions announced the education insatiate illegal, however the management insisted that issues were being clarified and authorities will verify the degrees.

Though, both the provincial as well as federal Higher Education Commissions declared the institute as illegal.


Now we are stuck,” he added.


The protesters required the commissions to solve this issue and take some strict action against the management.

At the beginning of the year, the Punjab Higher Education Commission (PHEC) announced that a monitoring as well as evaluation subcommittee visited the Global Institute Lahore on January 11th, 2017 after students the aspirants complained regarding the status of degrees.

“The educational institute was found compromising on fundamentals like faculty, teaching and learning environment, facilities for students, laboratories, library as well as needed administration structure,” the committee affirmed. It added that all these aspects fell below the minimum obligatory standards and criteria.

“The committee furthermore noticed that Global Institute Lahore is also managing multiple affiliated or franchised campuses, which are illegal because no such approval was sought from any regulatory body. The administration of Global Institute Lahore informed the subcommittee that sub-campuses are being de-affiliated instantly, however no evidence was presented”.

Likewise, the federal Higher Education Commission, in the end of 2016, also announced the Global Institute as illegal.

It issued an advisory to the parents as well as to the aspirants not to take admission in this institute.
