The Sindh education minister, Saeed Ghani has hinted to postpone the exams in the province. Earlier the Sindh government had announced the proposed schedule of the matric and intermediate exams. As per the schedule, the annual exams of SSC part I and part II will be commenced from 20th May whereas the annual exams of HSSC part I and part II will be held from10th June 2021. In this regard, the instructions had been issued to all the educational boards to develop the model papers for the annual exams by following the old paper pattern as per the announcement of the inter board committee of chairmen.

Resumption of Educational Activities

Saeed Ghani said that due to the prolonged closure of the educational institutes the exams might be got delayed. After the emergence of the coronavirus pandemic, the institutes across the country already remain closed for an extended time period. To review the situation of COVID-19 and devise the plan for the resumption of the educational activities the meeting of the steering committee was held. He added that the pandemic has affected all the sectors and the government is striving hard to facilitate the students in such a crucial time.

Postponement Of Exams

According to the education minister, the educational institutes should be provided some time so that at least 60% curriculum will be taught to the students. Currently, the students could not be able to study comprehensively amid the COVID-19 pandemic so by conducting the exams in the ongoing situation the students will be at a disadvantage. The exams may be postponed for one or two months so that the students can be prepared for the examination. For this purpose, a committee has been formed to discuss the matter with the other educational authorities and suggest recommendations about the commencement of the exams and schedule for the new academic session for all schools, colleges, and universities. It is expected that the recommendations will be shared with the government on 30th January 2021
