The federal minister for education and professional training, Shafqat Mahmood has made an announcement regarding the Cambridge exams. The students who intend to appear in the O and A level exams are informed that Cambridge assessment international education will hold the exams according to the announced schedule. The candidates are notified to prepare for the upcoming exam as they will not be delayed in any case. The minister has shared the notification on his official Twitter account to provide the update to the students about the CAIE exams. It has been furthermore said that while the commencement of the exams Cambridge and the British council will ensure the proper implementation of SOPs to contain the spread of the coronavirus pandemic. Moreover, the candidates that do not want to appear in the June 2021 series can also switch to October/November exams for the same fee.
CAIE Exams 2021
As per the notification issued CAIE has confirmed that for the June series the authorities will not use the school-assessed grades to evaluate the performance of the students. Earlier the Cambridge assessment international education had announced that the AS and A level exams will be held from 26th April 2021. Cambridge International’s Country Director Pakistan Uzma Yousuf had said that the Cambridge and federal government of Pakistan have been working closely for the smooth conduction of the exams as the health of the students is our top priority. Previously the Cambridge had also introduced measures to support the students that will appear in the exams in May/June series 2021.
Reopening Of Schools For Grades 9-12
The federal minister also announced that the educational institutes for the students of grades 9-12 will be reopened from 19th April 2021. The students will attend the on-campus classes on Mondays and Thursdays in coronavirus hotspot areas. The schedule for matric and intermediate annual exams 2021 has been announced and the exam will be commenced from 25th May 2021 and 3rd July 2021 respectively. However, the schools for grades prep to eight students will remain closed till 28th April 2021.
