Punjab higher education commission has announced to introduce new subjects in colleges. In this regard, the preparations have been completed and the plan will be implemented soon. The plan has been approved by provincial minister Raja Yasir Hamayun Sarfaraz for the betterment of education governance. The decision has been taken by considering the percentage of the employed people in the province of Punjab. PHEC has formed the committee to monitor the progress of the implementation of the proposed plan.
First Phase Of Implementation
The provincial secretary of Punjab higher education, Nadeem Mehboob has said that in the first phase market-oriented subjects will be introduced in the sixteen colleges of the four districts. The main purpose is to provide better education and learning opportunities to the students so that they can earn their livelihood through the learned skills and practical exposure. It has been said that the government is putting the efforts for the young generation by offering them the new subjects in their curriculum according to the latest trends. Through the newly introduced subjects, the students will learn about a variety of new things related to marketing and business that will help them later on in their life. By introducing the marketing-based subjects the government is planning to promote the business skills in the students along with the education.
Today the focus of many students has been shifting towards entrepreneurship and through this way, the students will be able to produce new employment opportunities for themselves rather than finding a job after the completion of Education. The subjects that will be included in the curriculum of the government colleges are Biotechnology, Food Sciences, Medical Lab Technology, Tourism and hospitality, data sciences and many other market-oriented subjects.
