Punjab Government To Upgrade 800 Primary Schools To Higher Levels

The Punjab government has announced to upgrade the 800 primary schools to the higher levels. The Punjab education minister, Murad Raas made this announcement that under the insaaf afternoon school program the schools will be upgraded. Earlier the education ministry had already upgraded several primary schools to provide better education facilities to the students. The government is struggling hard to promote quality education so that all the students can avail the learning opportunities and can make a rapid progression in their educational careers. 

Up-gradation Of Primary Schools

The education minister has said this decision has been taken by considering the dropout rate of the students. According to the sources it has been reported that almost 70% of students dropped out from the schools after completing the education till 5th grade. After checking the recorded data it has been proposed by the concerned officials that it is better to upgrade the schools rather than building the new higher schools as it will take a lot of time and also affect the education of the students. To build the schools the government will take approximately 2-3 years and the millions of rupees will be required for this purpose. So in the going situation, the implementation of this plan is not possible at once so it has been stated to enhance the efficiency of the schools by upgrading them to the higher levels. In this way, the dropout rate of the students can be minimized to some extent. 

Evening Lessons In Schools

To overcome the existing challenge the government has asked the teachers to also give the lessons in the evening. The students of class 6, 7 and 8th will be taught and the government will also provide the allowance to the teachers that will teach the classes. The schools that will function in the afternoon will be able to bring thousands of students back to the schools among them the majority will be girls.
