The Punjab government has announced the fee waiver for the TEVTA students. The announcement has been made by the Punjab Minister for Industries Mian Aslam Iqbal that the government has decided to facilitate the students and in this regard, the concession in the fee will be granted to more than 100,000 students of Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority. He further said that this initiative has been taken to support the students in the ongoing situation of the coronavirus pandemic as the Punjab government always stood firm to promote technical education across the province. It has been further said that the tuition fee of the session will be waived off for the students enrolled in the 400 TEVTA institutes.
Through this initiative, many students will be able to complete their education without having any financial issues. Due to the COVID-19, all the sectors have been facing a financial crunch. Moreover due to the prolonged closures of the educational institutes across the country the academic and examination schedule also got disturbed. The technical education and vocational training authority had also earlier announced to take the online classes to teach the students. The minister said that the government is fulfilling its responsibilities to provide education and training to the students so that they can earn their livelihood. He also appreciated the efforts of the Punjab government.
Facilities For Students
Mian Aslam Iqbal added that the government has always provided the finical relief to the students and due to COVID-19, it is necessary to take this step so no student can be left behind from the basic right to get an education. For the past years, the TEVTA has also provided the free of cost training to many students. According to Chief Minister Punjab Hunarmand, Nowjawan Program thousands of students are trained that make them skilled enough to work and earn a good amount of money.
