University of the Punjab and Alhamra Arts sign an MoU to promote culture and arts in the province. This MoU was signed on October 26, 2020. According to the details, the purpose of this partnership is to fortify the cultural roots of the country. With the agreement, the students of PU will be able to join various cultural activities organized by Alhamra Arts Council. It will become easier for the students of the University of Punjab to advance their knowledge in the performing arts. Students will be able to participate in various programs held at the Alhamra arts council.
Participants Of MoU Signing Ceremony
At the ceremony of MoU signing between PU and Alhamra arts council, the Vice-Chancellor of University of the Punjab Dr. Niaz Ahmad and Executive Director Alhamra Arts Council Lahore Ms. Saman Rai were present. Both of these officials signed the document of MoU. Other significant persons from the PU Lahore present in the ceremony were Prof. Dr. Saleem Mazhar, Dr. Sobia Khurram, Mr. Khurram Shahzad, Mr. Muhammad Murtaza Noor. Mr. Zulfiqar Ali Zulfi, the director of Arts and Culture in the Lahore Arts Council was also present in this ceremony. All of these important persons agreed to make efforts to enhance the connections between PU and Alhamra Arts Council for the promotion of arts and culture in the country.
Importance Of Arts In Education
Studying arts makes it easy for students to grasp the abstract concepts they are taught in their curriculum. Many pedagogical techniques in the present-day education landscape include ways of imparting education by incorporating arts and cultural themes. The MoU between PU and Alhamra Arts Council will encourage the students to embrace and celebrate the importance of cultural values and artistic activities. Many leading artists and cultural persons of Pakistan have completed their higher education at the University of Punjab. On the other hand, the Alhamra Arts Council is the place where artists find the opportunity to sharpen their skills and get better at presenting cultural values. The partnership between these two great institutions will surely improve the arts and cultural aspects of the country.
