Preston university students shine in singing competition

Islamabad, An inter-university Singing Competition was organized by Preston University at Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai Auditorium which was the part of ‘Spring Splash 2013.’ The competition was sorted into male and female category.
 
Participants of various universities took part in the competition. In Male category, students of University of Peshawar, Institute of Space Technology, Islamabad, and Preston University Islamabad and Karachi participated in the female competition. Quaid-e-Azam University, Islamabad, Arid Agriculture University, Rawalpindi, University of Peshawar, Federal Urdu University, Islamabad, Institute of Space Technology, Islamabad, and Preston University, Islamabad, Kohat and Lahore campuses took part.
 
In the female category, Nosheen Qayyum of Preston University, Islamabad got first position by over taking the participants of other universities. Second position went to Mehwish Iqbal of Preston University, Karachi while third position was taken by Haadia Sultan from the University of Peshawar.
 
In the male category, the first position was grabbed by Subhan Ali Niazi of Preston University, Islamabad.

The best singer award was taken by Subhan Niazi, who sang a beautiful ‘ghazal’ on the occasion and got first position in the competition. Second position went to Hammad from Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad while third position was won by Kashif Hussain of Arid Agriculture University, Rawalpindi.

Moreover, Last week a ‘Qirat Competition’ was arranged at Preston University which was the part of Spring Splash 2013.

Various events were held in the inter-university competitions such as Qirat, Bilingual Debate, Dramatics, Singing, T-20 cricket, Table Tennis, Badminton, and Football contests. A number of universities all over the Pakistan took part in the  Qirat competition such as Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad, Arid-Agriculture University, Rawalpindi, Air University, Islamabad, Punjab University, Minhaj-ul-Quran University, Lahore, GC University, Lahore, University of Gujrat, Hamdard University, Islamabad, University of Peshawar, Federal Urdu University, Islamabad, and Preston University, Islamabad, Kohat, and Lahore campuses.
