Islamabad: The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has the withdrawn decision related to ban new medical colleges.

Pakistan Medical and Dental Council has already received over 50 applications for the construction of new medical colleges ahead of Federal Cabinet and Ministry of National Health Services’ approval.

According to the officials, the decision over the applications will be taken as per the law.

It is important to mention here that PMDC imposed ban on new medical colleges till the verification of faculty members.

The Ministry of National Health Services’ secretary had announced to consult the cabinet for every managerial matter according to the instructions of Supreme Court after which PMDC has sent summary to cabinet for the additional proceedings.

At the same time, president of PMDC Dr Shabbir Lehri said that green signal will only be given to those colleges who have proper faculty, facilities and follow rules and regulations.
