PEC Mandates 5th and 8th Class Exams

The Punjab Examination Commission serves as the governing body responsible for administering examinations for students in the 5th and 8th grades. As an autonomous entity within the Department of School Education in Punjab, Pakistan, PEC plays a crucial role in evaluating and assessing student's academic progress. Recently an announcement has been made regarding the PEC 5th class and 8th class exams! According to that announcement, PEC has made the 5th and 8th class PEC exams.mandatory for all government and private schools of Punjab province. This change will come into effect starting from next year (2025). Students will not be able to get admissions in 6th and 9th classes without clearing the 5th and 8th class PEC exams.
 
 


 

Punjab Boards Shifts Matric Subjects to English Medium

Starting from 2025, a significant shift is set to occur in the Punjab Board's educational landscape. From the next year all matric science and arts subjects will be offered in English medium instead of Urdu language. This mandatory change in the language medium of all sciences and arts subjects has been made for educational boards of Punjab. This transformative change marks a withdrawal from the traditional Urdu medium teaching and reflects a broader effort to align with international educational standards. 


 

Transition of FA Subjects to English Medium

The Punjab Boards are also introducing a significant reform regarding FA subjects. Starting from next year 2026, all optional subjects of FA (part 1 & 2 both) will be offered in English only. This forward-looking initiative reflects the Punjab Board's commitment to adopt a dynamic and progressive educational environment.
