Pakistani student to receive excellence award from the Queen of England

London: A Pakistani student is among the 60 young people from across the country selected to receive prestigious Queen’s Young Leaders Award.

Syed Faizan Hussain, a 22-year-old from Karachi, has been selected as an acknowledgement of his use of technology to make solutions to health problems in his community.

This year the award winners are leading projects on international matters including education, climate change, gender equality, mental health and disability equality.

The Queen’s Young Leaders Awards recognizes and celebrate exceptional young people aged 18 to 29 in the state who are driving change within their populations and transforming the lives of people.

Now in its third and second last year, the 60 young people will become part of the developing Queen’s Young Leaders community, a unique network of powerful young change-makers who are coming together and being supported to become an exceptional force to do something good.

These students will receive their Award from Queen of London at a ceremony in London in 2017.

In a statement, Syed Faizan Hussain said:

“I am happy to have received this Award and look forward to increasing my leadership abilities and engaging along with the people from different fields who will be sharing their ideas and experiences.”

On the other hand, Dr Astrid Bonfield CBE, Chief Executive of The Queen Elizabeth Diamond Jubilee Trust said:

“We are really happy that these great young people have been nominated as Queen’s Young Leaders, and wish our sincere congratulations to each and every one of them.

The Queen’s Young Leaders Award is aimed to inspire and cherish the talent of brilliant young people from all over the Commonwealth thus they can make and lead others towards getting positive changes in communities.

The work being undertaken by the modern cohort of Queen’s Young Leaders is addressing some of the most critical issues facing the Commonwealth today.

We really can’t wait to see how their impressive happenings grow and develop over the progression of the year to come and beyond.”
