IRENA's Youth Forum 2024 – We are here to inform you about an excellent opportunity for Pakistani individuals interested in promoting renewable energy and its sustainable development. In April 2024, the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) will host its fifth IRENA Youth Forum, "The New Generation of Decision Makers" at the margin of fourteenth session of the IRENA Assembly in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. This assembly serves as a global platform where Heads of State/ Government, Ministers and stakeholders convene to discuss and advance the transition towards sustainable energy. This forum provides a platform for Pakistani youth to contribute to IRENA's mission of accelerating renewable energy deployment and achieving climate goals.
IRENA Youth Forum 2024
The 2024 IRENA Youth Forum aims to empower young leaders by connecting them with influential figures, policymakers, and field experts. This fifth IRENA Youth Forum will be held on 16th April 2024 in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The forum will be conducted in English language at the IRENA Agency. International Renewable Energy Agency usually invites applications from youth in developing countries, Small Island Developing States (SIDS) and Least Developed Countries (LDCs) it allows them to present their ideas in front of the whole world.
Requirements of IRENA Youth Forum:
- Applying candidate must have a valid passport.
- Participants must be willing to travel on the mentioned date of the forum.
- Interested candidates should be between the ages of 16 and 35 years at the time of application submission.
- Candidate must have a nationality of SIDS, LDCs or developing countries.
- Candidates also have to demonstrate their engagement in promoting renewable energy and sustainable development.
Benefits of The IRENA Youth Forum
- IRENA Agency will bear all the travel and accommodation expenses of the selected participants.
- IRENA Agency will allow these expenses for up to 35 participants.

IRENA Youth Forum Application Deadline
The IRENA Youth Forum application deadline is 31st January 2024 (till midnight, Abu Dhabi local time). Candidates will be selected depending upon their commitment to accelerating progress on renewable energy deployment. Prospective candidates should share their experiences in sustainable energy initiatives and articulate their vision for contributing to the global energy transition while filling out the online IRENA Youth Forum application.
IRENA Youth Forum Application Process
- Students can submit their IRENA Youth Forum 2024: The New Generation of Decision Makers applications by following the below given steps:
- Students can easily start filling out their IRENA Youth Forum application from here.
- The whole application process is divided into three sections (A, B & C).
- In section A, applicants have to provide their personal information like their full name, date of birth, gender, country and email etc.
- Then, in the B section candidates have to answer some questions about their engagement in promoting the deployment of renewable energy and sustainable development.
- Then in the final section candidates have to upload their CVs. The CV should be either in PDF form or a Word document and should be written in English language.
- Then press the ‘Submit’ button after tick marking the re-captcha box.
