Pakistan issues its first ever third-gender passport in history

As we all know that the transgenders in Pakistan exist since the beginning of the national history, though, recently they have been given permission to travel abroad as the country issued its first ever transgender passport to a transgender activist.

This marks as an accomplishment by the transgender community as the government of Pakistan has decided to introduce 3^rd gender category for the passport holders.

Farzana Jan, a prominent transgender activist, was the first person to get the passport last week and all the transgenders in the country are instantly qualified to get a passport to travel abroad.

Farzana, the president of the charity Trans Action Pakistan, told the media sources that the introduction of the X category together with the two categories M for Male and F for Female is an important step in the fight of the community for the legal respect in Pakistan.

She furthermore added that while male and female were given all the rights, the transgenders are still fighting for their identity in this age and time.

She also added that she as well as her community also wishes to see the outside world and travelling was not possible for them before this.

It must be noted that the transgenders lead much better lives in Pakistan as compared to many other states of the world, though; they have struggled to get the legal and official identification at different levels.

This is why transgender community is yet to get jobs or healthcare facilities in Pakistan.

Farzana is confident that situations are changing and better future for the transgenders is about to come very soon.
