The national command and operation Centre has announced to extend the closure of educational institutes till 23rd May 2021. In the meeting, all the provincial education ministers and health ministers participated and the meeting was chaired by the federal minister for education and professional training, Shafqat Mahmood. The decision has been taken due to the rapid upsurge in the number of coronavirus cases. Earlier it had been announced that the schools, colleges, and universities will be reopened after Eid-ul-Fitr but now according to the new announcement made by the NCOC the institutes will remain closed for an extended time period.
NCOC Review Session
The review session of the national command and operation Centre will be held on 18th May 2021 to decide about the reopening of the educational institutes by considering the situation of the coronavirus pandemic. To prioritize the safety of the students the government had decided to shut down the schools, colleges, and universities after the spread of the COVID-19. Moreover, for the academic year 2020, the students got promoted to the next class based on the promotion policy devised by the government in order to save the time of the students.
Announcement About Exams
Earlier the federal education minister, Shafqat Mahmood had announced that the annual exams of matric and intermediate will be conducted after 15th June 2021. As per the statement of the education minister, all the examinations across the country have been postponed till 15th June. The revised examination schedule will be issued by the concerned authorities for the commencement of the exams. The minister had also clarified that the students will not be promoted without the exams the priority will be given to SSC and HSSC annual exams so that the result can be declared at the appropriate time and the students will be able to get admission in the colleges/universities.
