A contempt of court petition was heard in Lahore High Court on Wednesday against the school for charging extra fees from children. In this regard, Lahore high court suspends the notification of permission for fee above 5% of Private Schools. As per the details, a contempt of court petition was heard in LHC against the private school for charging extra fees from the children. Justice Sajid Mehmood Sethi heard the case. The court suspended the notification giving permission for more than 5% fees of private schools.

Five To Eight Percent Increase in Private Schools Fee

Furthermore, the Lahore High court has adjourned the hearing till September and asks for the reply from the parties. The Court further said that the education department did not use its mind, if it wishes to allow five percent to eight percent increase in fees, then it will have to give the reasons for it. LHC adjourned the hearing of this case till the end of summer vacations and call upon the lawyers of the parties for further arguments at the next hearing of case.

Provincial Education Minister Announcement Regarding 20% Fee Concession

It is also important to mention here that few days back the provincial education minister Dr Murad Raas had tweeted regarding the fees of private schools and said that 20% discount on fee will be maintained in the fees of private schools.

In his tweet, he also stated that this concession will be maintained as long as schools are closed because of the Corona Virus Pandemic. If the fees are not reduced then the parents can contact the education CEO of the respective district, he added. He also informed that 95% of the complaints received so far have been resolved already.
