Karachi University has introduced the postgraduate diploma along with an objective to develop a new community of teachers for the technical education institutions in Karachi.

The Dean of faculty of Education, Prof Dr Shagufta while sharing the details of the one year long programme said that the course will be offered as part of the evening programme from this semester.

She moreover said that “the programme has been initiated in association along with the Kaiserslautern Technical University (KTU), Germany, as well as the Sindh Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (STEVTA)”.

She said that the faculty of education of University of Karachi as well as the KTU was looking to improve technically trained teachers for the technical institutions in Karachi, overall, and Pakistan, in specific.

She moreover added that, the Vice Chancellor of University of Karachi, Professor Muhammad Qaiser had signed an agreement to maintain a bridge between the two universities and begin the new programme in the varsity. “Teacher development is of a great importance in a developing nation such as Pakistan in order to protect the bright future for our children.”
