How to Join Pak Army as Commission Officer - PMA Long Course

PMA Long Course Intelligence test

The intelligence test majorly consists of two parts. The candidate has to clear these both tests to move toward the next phase.

  • Verbal intelligence test (96 Questions, 30 Minutes)
  • Nonverbal intelligence test (96 Questions, 30 Minutes)

PMA Long Course Academic tests

The candidates declared successful in intelligence tests will undergo the academic test. It consists of 50 multiple-choice questions with 30 Minutes timing of the subjects stated below.

  • English
  • Physics
  • Mathematics
  • Chemistry
  • Computer Science ( only for computer science students)

PMA Long Course Physical Test

The candidates declared successful in the academic test then undergo the PMA Long Course physical test. The candidates have to qualify the following physical test.

  • 1.6 KM Run: 8 minutes
  • Pushups: 15 repetitions in 2 minutes
  • Sit-ups: 20 repetitions in 2 minutes
  • Chin-Ups: 3 repetitions in 2 minutes
  • Ditch Crossing: 7’.4”* 7’.4’’ with the depth of 4’

Interview for PMA Long Course

The candidates that will pass all the above-mentioned tests will then receive the interview call at the Pakistan Army and Recruitment Center. The candidate must bring all the original documents for the process of verification. Make sure to take all the important documents such as CNIC, Domicile, academic certificates, and character certificates. Then candidates are then shortlisted to move to the final selection.

ISSB Selection Criteria: 

After qualifying all these tests and submitting the required documents at the Pakistan Army and Recruitment center, the candidates will receive the letter from Inter Service Selection Board. All the candidates have to appear at the given center on the mentioned time for the follow-up procedure. The candidate will go through the Five-day schedule at the ISSB center that evaluates their eligibility, potential, and abilities to become the commissioned officer in the Pak army. The medical checkup, screening test, and several other tests will be conducted. ISSB five day processes are as follows

  • Screening test (Arrival day)
  • Psychologist test (Second day)
  • Group testing officer test (third and fourth day)
  • Interview
  • Board meeting (Fifth day)

The candidates appear in the ISSB selection interview on the fifth day and the interview panel consists of President, GTOs, Psychologists, and Technical Officer. The qualified candidates are then subject to the final medical examination in the nearby military hospital. The final selection of the candidates will then declared according to the merit list by the GHQ Rawalpindi. The candidates will be going to PMA Kakul for further training.
