The Higher Education Commission has issued the registration schedule for the Special Equivalence Examination for law graduates (SEE-law). The candidates who intend to apply for the test have to follow the instructions provided by the Commission. The HEC conducts the special equivalence examination  per the directions issued by the Honorable Supreme Court for the candidates of the foreign universities. The law graduates enrolled in the foreign universities recognized with the HEC and PBC are required to pass the SEE-law test before taking the law graduate assessment test which is mandatory for applying to the bar council for enrollment as an advocate. The online applications are invited from the candidates from the law graduates who have obtained their degrees from foreign universities.

Eligibility Criteria

The persons who have passed the bachelor’s degree or the equivalent degree program in the field of law from a foreign university are eligible to apply for this special equivalence examination. 

Date of Examination

The test will be based on multiple-choice questions and the curriculum has been provided to the candidates so that they can prepare for the test accordingly. The test will be held on 9th January 2022 tentatively and any change in the test date will be communicated to the candidates. The applicants after the registration will be able to get the roll number slips issued by the HEC to appear in the test. Moreover, the roll number slips will be sent to the candidates at their registered email address at least a week before the commencement of the test. To notify the candidates about the examination date and time the Email/SMS will be sent by the HEC so the candidates are instructed to enter the correct information. On the test day, it is mandatory for the students to bring the original CNIC and print of roll number slip. The test will be held in the provincial and federal capitals and after the selection of the test center, the candidates can not make the changes in it. 

Registration Process

  • The candidates are required to do the online registration to take the test.
  • Only online submitted application form to the HEC will be considered for the test. 
  • The test fee is Rs. 5000/- that should be submitted in Habib bank limited, in the given account however the candidates are informed that bank orders and pay orders will not be accepted. The application processing fee is nonrefundable and nontransferable.
  • The applicants have to submit the originally paid fee challan through courier before the mentioned schedule and the CNIC number should be mentioned at the back of the deposit slip.
  • The last date for the online registration for the special equivalence exam is 27th December 2022. 

Other Requirements

  • To pass the special equivalence examination the candidates have to score at least 50% marks according to the Pakistan bar council.
  • The applicants are required to meet the mentioned criteria to take the exam.
  • The applicants will have three chances to qualify for this SEE-law test and HEC conducts this test twice a year.
