The federal education minister, Shafqat Mahmood has addressed the concerns of the students about the online exams. The universities have been closed for the past two months and the students are demanding to conduct the online exams as it is not safe to hold the physical exams due to the spread of the coronavirus pandemic. The minister stated that students are insisting that the exams should be held online as they have been taking the online classes. He clarified that in this regard the decision will be made by the universities. Moreover, the higher education commission will also consult the vice-chancellors of the universities to see if it is possible to agree with the demands of the students in the unusual circumstances this year.

Online Exams

It has been added that the online exams depend upon the technical ability of the universities. The institutes can only commence the examinations only if they ensure to take the exams by following all the rules and furthermore the online exam system is not misused to get the essay grades as it will affect the overall performance of the students. No student should be left behind. The marks should be granted by carefully assessing the students so for this preparation of good question papers and assessment is important.

Protest Of Students

To protest against the physical exams the students took the social media platforms and expressed their anger. The candidates called the educational institutes to conduct the online exams like they held the online classes for the students. The main issue was the increase in the number of coronavirus cases across the country. Due to the rapid transmission of the coronavirus, the colleges and universities have been shut down from 26th November 2020. Earlier the meeting of the national command and operation center was held in which it had been decided to resume the academic activities of the higher educational institutes. As per the directives issued the universities will be reopened from 1st February 2021.
