Punjab Minister for Education, Rana Mashhood on Monday said that the owners of private schools who are set to go on a strike have no respect for the future of their aspirants.

Rana Mashood also said that 97 % of the private schools remain open today as normal. While giving his statement he said that “No one will be permitted to excessively raise the school fee.” He also added, the conference with APPSF will be held soon.

Approximately 97,000 in Punjab that comes under the supervision Punjab Private Schools Federation will remain closed till 9th of March 2016. The step has been taken as a result of protest against Punjab Education authority Bill that was passed by Punjab Assembly.

According to the owners of private schools, Punjab government did not take the PPSF in confidence over passed education bill.

On the other hand, almost all parents of the students criticized the government for being unable to solve the matter and to discuss with federation in peaceful environment.

The parents of aspirants have requested the government to discuss about the matters with the schools as soon as possible so that education of students will not suffer.  

All Punjab Private Schools Federation announced on Sunday to close the private schools across the province on 8th and 9th March 2016.

As per the Punjab Private School Federation, Beaconhouse school system (BSS), LGS , Lacas school system, Lahore school, City school, Salamat school system, Allied school, EFA, Kims school, Resource Academia, Kids Kampus, Lahore preschool, Learning Alliance, Dar-e-Arqam and American Lycetuff are closed among others as a result of the protest.

While talking to media, president of PPSF said that all the schools affiliated with the federation would remain closed on 8th and 9th of March.

A representative for Education Minister Rana Mashood, told that provincial government will soon form a committee for the analysis of complaints of private schools. It would also take a strict action against schools that remain closed on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Furthermore, he said that schools were not expected to cancel the simulate examinations for class 9th and 10th and O or A levels. He added that the cancellation of exams can affect the overall progress of aspirants to the next academic year and the schools could not be expected to risk the academic progress of their aspirants at any cost.
