PESHAWAR: Around 80 laptops were distributed among PhD researchers under Phase-2 of the Prime Minister's Laptop Scheme at the University of Engineering and Technology (UET) here on Wednesday.

UET Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Iftikhar Hussain was chief guest on the event. Dr Khizar Azam, registrar of UET, Shafiullah, collaborator executive Higher Education Commission (HEC), Engr Naveed Ahmad, director clubs UET, senior employees and students were likewise present on the event.

Prof Dr Iftikhar Hussain said that the laptop scheme had been implemented smoothly and tranparently at the UET.

He encouraged the PhD researchers to benefit as much as possible from the laptops for examination purposes with a specific end goal to effectively finish their PhD degrees.

He expressed gratitude toward the HEC and government for provision of quality laptops to the PhD researchers.

Naveed Ahmad prior welcomed the participantss. He said that 26 central people had been given the assignment to recognize and check the meriting PhD researchers to make the procedure transparent for the laptop distribution. He additionally said that the central people were given honorarium for the first time.
