Lahore: Chief Minister of Punjab Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has approved the purchase of 150,000 laptops in the present financial year that would be distributed among the brilliant students crosswise the province.

The approval came during a meeting that was organized to review the progress of issues related to the procurement of laptops for talented students of Punjab.
Heading over the meeting, the CM said laptops of latest models should be bought at first.

“The distribution of laptops on the basis of merit was an important step towards encouraging the youth,” he added.
According to CM, effective steps were being taken for the promotion of IT that was the requirement of the hour. He said that information technology labs had been established by spending billions of rupees in schools crosswise the province.
More than 15,000 brilliant girls and boys of needy families are studying at high-status educational institutions through PEEF.
