The UK is sending 63 Pakistani students to study a one year master’s programme in United Kingdom, sponsored by the UK Government’s Chevening programme.

On Thursday, the Acting British high Commissioner, Mr Richard Crowder at a reception In Islamabad presented certificates to the number of scholars before their departure to United Kingdom.  

The reception given to the students was attended by Chevening alumni, British High Commission as well as by the UK Aid officials and members of the Chevening Alumni Association of Pakistan.

While presenting the certificates, the Acting British High Commissioner Mr Richard Crowder said:

“I congratulate the nominated scholars on this superb achievement. The year 2017 marks the 70th Anniversary of UK-Pakistan relations as well as the Chevening Scholarship Programme is an integral part of our strong relationship along with Pakistan. Both United Kingdom as well as Pakistan benefit from the sharing of ideas and the learning that results from the Chevening Scholarship Programme.

“This is a golden chance for the scholars to get knowledge from the most well-known universities of the world in United Kingdom and experience a dynamic, vibrant as well as multiracial society. I advise our scholars to explore as well as to make the best use of their time in United Kingdom, and experience the culture, heritage, landscape and also the individuals of United Kingdom. The innovative experiences plus the knowledge will help them make a difference to the future of Pakistan”.
