About BIEK Karachi Board:
BIEK, short for Board of Intermediate Education Karachi, is the governmental body responsible for conducting intermediate education examinations in Karachi. It gained its distinct identity in 1974 under the "Sindh Boards of Intermediate and Secondary Education" amendment act no. 20, as documented on page 31 of the 1973 book of documentation. Currently helmed by Prof. Dr. Saeed Uddin, the BIEK Karachi Board holds authority over organizing, regulating, developing, and supervising Inter Education. Operating independently, the Board conducted its inaugural H.S.C. Examination in 1974 for 51,000 candidates from 50 affiliated colleges. Fast forward to 2023, the number of examinees soared to 275,000. Presently, the Board oversees approximately 409 affiliated colleges. It's worth noting that the Board of Secondary Education, Karachi, holds similar authority but for secondary education.
