Islamabad: Last night, the Australian High Commissioner to Pakistan Margaret Adamson launched an alumni chapter of Australia’s Curtin University in Pakistan.
The Curtin University has over six hundred (600) graduates in Pakistan, many of whom are working in high profile as well as powerful positions in government, private as well as the not-for-profit areas.

The Alumni Chapter in Pakistan is targeted to work closely along with Curtin University Australia as well as the present and potential employers in Pakistan to upsurge the employability of its graduates.
They will also be working along with the educational institutes of Pakistan to associate along with the Curtin University.
The High Commissioner Margaret Adamson said that the increasing number of Pakistani aspirants living as well as studying in Australia highlighted the strong people-to-people relations among the nations Australia and Pakistan.

She noted the latest launch of the Australian Global Alumni Network in Pakistan (globalalumni.gov.au) and the encouraged Curtin graduates to join.
“Presently Australia is the 3rd largest international destination for Pakistani aspirants looking for the high-quality education for their professional development, along with presently approximately 16,000 registrations in the higher educational institutes of Australian,” said Adamson.
The vice chancellor of Curtin University Professor Deborah Terry said:
“We are really happy that the launch event is happening in this year (2017) during our 50th Celebrations. It is 50 years since the predecessor institution of Curtin; the Western Australian Institute of Technology (WAIT) started functioning. I would also like to admire the prominent role the of founder of the Alumni Chapter in Pakistan, Noor Aftab and her dedicated group of graduates in Pakistan have played well in making the launch possible. Curtin is lucky to have such dedicated graduates.”
