Allama Iqbal Open University’s postgraduate courses online course workshops for begin from Monday

The Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU), semester Spring 2020, Course workshops of all postgraduate programs will be held online from Monday (13 July 2020) through Aaghi Learning Management System (LMS) throughout the country.

The workshops are being arranged for the following programs:

1. B.Ed.

2. M.Ed.

3. MA

4. M.Sc.

5. B.S.

Ajmal Farooq, Director ICT’s Briefing about workshops:

These programs will be delivered on ODL mode (the open and distance learning) said Ajmal Farooq, Director ICT. Students of B.Ed. courses will be the participants of the first batch of these online workshops, he added. The usernames and passwords are sent through mobile SMS to the students of the first batch. The passwords and usernames of remaining students of other postgraduate programs are still on the way of its process to be delivered to the students. He further said highly qualified teachers have been hired by the varsity across the country for teaching different courses in these workshops.

AIOU’s preparedness for conducting its educational activities:

The Director informed that in the wake of Covid-19, the university had recently upgraded its connectivity of internet and load-balancing capacity while he was briefing about the university’s preparedness of online workshops on a large scale. Around 30,000 students will participate in six different slots each day of these workshops. The duration of each slot would be of 90 minutes. These online workshops for AIOU’s students will continue until October 2020.

How to join these online workshop classes:

In case of non-receipt of usernames and passwords, the students of the postgraduate courses spring semester 2020 can contact their respective regional offices for logging on to these mandatory online course workshops. Emails addresses are available at the university’s website of all regional offices of the university. The attendance of students will be managed automatically through the online management system.
