It is said that when you lose one of your senses, the rest of your senses become stronger.

In the case of Aziza Saeed, who is blind by birth, she has replaced her vision along with the sense of accomplishment. Aziza believes that nothing is impossible if you have strong faith in yourself and you are actually determined to give your bets.

This incredible woman from Lahore has done her PhD in spite of being legally blind.

Born without sight, it was obvious that this brilliant lady had a long and quite tough journey ahead especially as Pakistan is not an easy place for the disabled persons.

Aziza’s mother says “I was very worried when I came to know that she cannot see. I wondered how she will live and go on along with her life.”

She further added Sometimes people dishearten you and you feel miserable. However, you need to have faith in your capabilities and move on along with your life.

Aziza was not to lag behind because of the setback. She set goals which are deliberated quite tough even for those who have everything they require in their life.

Aziza Saeed completed her Masters and M.Phil degree from Government College University (GCU) Lahore and afterwards started working as a lecturer at Lahore College for Women University (LCWU). Though, these qualifications were only the stepping stones for her.

She continued her studies together with teaching, aspiring to complete her PhD degree.

Aziza is also famous for her beautiful voice and singing ability. Her fellows loved to hear her sing and even gave her a special title for it.

Aziza completed her thesis on “Immigrants and their Issues”.

This week, she completed her PhD in Urdu from Government College University Lahore (GCU), Lahore and received the title of being the first blind student to get a PhD from Government College University, Lahore.

She continues to teach at LCWU where she can have an even greater impression on the new generation of women.

Her aspirants find their teacher a role model in the way she teaches and lives her life.

The vice chancellor for Government College University says “She went through the similar exams procedures like every other student which is a big thing. She is an inspiration for all the disabled aspirants and everybody like her.”
