The School Education Department (SED) has decided to promote all the students up to 8th class of both public and private schools in Punjab. The students will be promoted to the next higher class in the pandemic situation of coronavirus in the country without examination.
The (SED) School Education Department Government of Punjab has issued a notification No. SO(A-1)1-31/2008 of promotion of class-1 to 8 students without holding any examination to next classes.Sindh Govt also decide to promote students without exams.
The provincial minister for School Education Murad Raas shared on his social media account that due to COVID-19 pandemic situation all students have been promoted to next classes in Punjab both public and private schools without annual examination.
Dr Muraad Raas said that " The decision was made in the Inter-Provincial Education Ministers Committee meeting and then the notification was issued. The decision would be applicable for all private and public schools ". Earlier, all public and private schools had closed in the province in March by the government due to Covid-19 pandemic and also all the examinations had been cancelled.
