200 students leave for Hungary for higher studies

Islamabad: On Tuesday, higher education commission organized a ceremony for 200 Pakistani students nominated for Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship.

Out of total 200 scholarships, 125 scholarships have been granted for BS studies, 50 scholarships have been granted for MS studies while 25 scholarships have been granted for PhD studies.

The nominated aspirants for scholarships belong to different disciplines consisting of Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration and Management, Social Sciences, Physical Sciences, Petroleum Geo-engineering, Earth Sciences, Applied Economics, Biology, Nursing and Patient Care as well as Chemistry.

These selected Pakistani aspirants will get higher education in different Hungarian universities including University of Debrecen, University of Pécs, Eötvös Lorand University, Budapest University of Technology and Economics, Széchenyi István University, University of Dunaújváros, University of Miskolc as well as Eötvös Lorand University to name a few.

While speaking at the ceremony, Federal Minister for Education and Professional Training Balighur Rehman said that the Pakistani government was committed to providing an exceptional environment to the young generation of Pakistan.

"The government has extraordinarily increased the funding for tertiary education," he added, adding that the number of out-of-school children had also decreased to a great extent.

Ambassador of Hungary in Pakistan Szabo Istavan said that the Hungary government attached great importance to two-sided relations along with Pakistan.

"Investment in education zone is undoubtedly an investment in the future. It will assist in further improving the bilateral relations," he added, adding that the 2 states had a long history of diplomatic relations spanning over half a century.
