Punjab University Announces Fall 2026 Admission Test Schedule For MS, M.Phil, and PhD Programs

The University of the Punjab (PU) has officially released the highly anticipated PU Fall 2026 admission test schedule. This schedule applies to postgraduate aspirants applying for MS, M.Phil., M.Sc. Engineering/Hons/Equivalent, and doctoral (PhD) programs across all university departments.

Whether candidates have applied for Regular or Self-Supporting (Afternoon/Evening) programs, they are now required to sit for the specialized written tests and upcoming departmental interviews.

With the academic race heating up, this structured schedule provides critical milestones for students looking to secure a seat at one of Pakistan’s oldest and most prestigious higher education institutions.

Who Can Apply For Admission?

1. The candidates who have passed FA/F.Sc./'A' Level or equivalent examination with a minimum of 55% marks. Or the admission to LLB 4-Years Program will be made provisionally on the basis of the result of Intermediate (Part-I) Examination 2026 or equivalent for candidate who have appeared in the final examination of Intermediate (Part-II) 2026 with a minimum of 55% marks, or equivalent and are  waiting  for their results.
2. The candidates who have passed the Law Admission Test (LAT) conducted by HEC with 50% passing marks and with a validity date for admission as per HEC policy.
3. The candidates must have appeared in the PU Admission Test conducted by the Punjab University. The candidates will be given 25% weightage of PU Admission Test result.
4. The age limit for the degree must not be more than 24 years of age.
5. The Candidates must provide equivalence/verification of their academic documents from Inter Board Committee of Chairman (IBCC) at the time of admission.

Admission For Undergraduate Programs Academic Year (2026-27)

The University of the Punjab, Lahore reminds all prospective undergraduate applicants that participation in the PU Admission Test is compulsory for admission eligibility. The university has tentatively scheduled the Second Admission Test for July 19, 2026.Last date for Online Registration of 2nd PU Admission Test is 03rd July, 2026

Eligible Candidates For Admission Test

1. Students who have completed and cleared  their HSSC (12th examination) or equivalent.
2. Students who have appeared in the final examination of HSSC and are waiting for result.

Admission Test Categories

The admission test will conduct in the following seven categories based on aca demic fields & discipline:

According to the University of Punjab the weightage of the admission test is 25% of the total merit calculation . The admission test will allow the candidates to apply for the undergraduate programs on the university portal when the programs were advertize for admission . The result of the last year PU test are not valid for new admissions.

1. For registration, please visit the following link: http://admissiontest.pu.edu.pk.
2. The Admission Test fee is PKR 2500/- The test fee is non-refundable and non-transferable.
3. Download Fee Challan while Registering for the Admission Test at http://admissiontest.pu.edu.pk . Fee Challan is only available through PU Admission Portal. The Fee can be paid at any branch of HBL, UBL or Mobile Banking through 1Bill.
4. All Applicants are required to upload image of proof of payment on the portal to complete the application process.
5. For Admission to Engineering Programs at University of the Punjab, Lahore (B. Sc. (Engg.) Chemical Engineering, B. Sc. (Engg.) Energy Engineering, B. Sc. (Engg.)Electrical Engineering, B. Sc. (Engg.) Metallurgy & Materials Engineering, B. Sc. (Engg.) Industrial Engineering & Management, PU Admission Test is mandatory as per PEC regulations and scores of E-CAT (UET) or NUST Test are acceptable.
6. Both LAT and PU Admission Test will be mandatory for admission to LLB Programs in University of the Punjab .
7. For admission to College of Art & Design, PU Admission Test is mandatory along with Drawing /Aptitude Test which will be conducted separately in the College of Art & Design.
8. MDCAT or PU Admission Test is valid for admission to the Doctor of Pharmacy Program (Pharm-D) .
9. Admission Notice for all Departments/Centers/Institutes/Colleges/Schools of the University of the Punjab will be advertised separately in National Dailies and on the University official website www.pu.edu.pk.
