One should complete FSc (Pre-Engineering) or its equivalent with a minimum of 60% of marks to apply to the BS Textile Engineering admission in 2025. Other universities can as well take candidates who have a DAE (Diploma of Associate Engineering) in a pertinent area as long as he meets the minimum marks criterion. Some institutions might also demand students to take an entry test to evaluate their knowledge of mathematics, analytical and basic sciences before admission.
BS Textile Engineering BS Textile engineering admission is often offered every year in July or August (2025), and most universities open their online application portals. The students must complete an application form and submit academic documents and pay an application fee. Universities then shortlist students according to merit which is determined using intermediate results and entry test scores. Merit lists are issued in stages and those selected are invited to pay admission fees and finish admission process within stipulated time. Submission will be meaningless and will most likely lead to seat cancellation.
In the majority of universities, there is one primary admission in a year, typically in the Fall semester. Nonetheless, in some cases, some privately run universities may also receive a Spring intake among those students who do not achieve Fall admissions. Competition is usually more intense in the Fall intake because majority of students make applications right after the release of their intermediate results. Colleges like National Textile University (NTU) Faisalabad, NED University Karachi and UET Lahore receive applications in large numbers because they have well established textile education.
The BS Textile Engineering has a competitive merit due to the popularity of the program and the minimal seats. In most cases the merit in the public sector universities is determined by the weightage 70 per cent FSc or equivalent marks and 30 per cent weightage to the entry test. The top universities are projected to close its merit with an average of about 78 to 85 per cent, based on the applicant count, in 2025. Although private universities have more flexible admission policies, the universities do not compromise on quality to ensure that they are able to get capable students who will be able to cope with the technical nature of the program.
The BS in Textile Engineering allows a number of career options upon graduation.
