The University of Victoria (UVic) in Canada invites applications for the Centre for Studies in Religion and Society (CSRS) Graduate Fellowships 2026–2027. These prestigious fellowships offer graduate students a unique opportunity to advance their research while being part of a vibrant academic community. The fellowship aims to support exceptional MA and PhD students exploring the complex relationship between religion and society across diverse disciplines such as ethics, culture, health, environment, media, and technology.
Successful applicants will receive a CAD $6,500 stipend for up to 12 months, along with access to the CSRS offices, library collections, and research resources at UVic. Fellows also benefit from a stimulating intellectual environment that encourages collaboration, dialogue, and interdisciplinary learning through weekly seminars and discussions. While travel and accommodation costs are not included, recipients gain valuable exposure, mentorship, and academic recognition at one of Canada’s leading research universities.
The fellowship is open to graduate students enrolled in MA or PhD programs, both at UVic and other recognized universities. Applicants must be in the writing stage of their thesis or dissertation during the fellowship period. Students who previously held a CSRS MA fellowship may apply again only at the PhD level. The application deadline for the 2026–27 academic year is November 10, 2025.
