Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the fellowship, applicants should demonstrate:

🔹 Understanding of AI Ethics – Familiarity with ethical issues related to artificial intelligence and technology adoption.
🔹 Experience in Governance or Advocacy – Prior involvement in policy, civil society, or rights‑based initiatives.
🔹 Cultural & Regional Sensitivity – Awareness of socio‑cultural impacts of AI and commitment to serving African communities.
🔹 Multilingual Skills – Fluency in English, French, or Arabic is an advantage.
Applications are especially encouraged from professionals based in countries such as Senegal, Mali, Burkina Faso, Niger, Chad, Sudan, Ethiopia, Somalia, and other Sahel & neighboring nations.

Duration 

The AI Ethics Fellowship 2026 runs for three months, during which participants will conduct research, engage in policy development, and collaborate with regional partners. The work is primarily remote, allowing fellows to contribute from their home countries while receiving technical and mentorship support.
