Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for this opportunity, you need to:

  • Be enrolled in or have an offer for a postgraduate program (either taught or research) at the University of Kent.
  • Be part of one of these academic schools:
    • Kent Law School
    • School of Arts and Architecture
    • School of Humanities
    • School of Psychology
    • School of Social Sciences
    • The Language Centre
    • Durrell Institute of Conservation & Ecology (DICE)
  • You should have good grades, like a First or 2:1 in your undergrad, or a Merit/Distinction in your Master’s.
  • Be able to explain your research to people who aren't experts in the field.
  • Present a solid reason for why your research should take place in the USA.
  • Ideally, you shouldn't have lived or studied in the USA before.

What Does the Scholarship Cover?

The scholarship offers up to £10,000 for each person, which can help with:

  • Tuition fees
  • Living expenses
  • Travel and research costs in the U.S.

In some special situations, students might qualify for funding for a second year of research.
