GAT-Subject test is basically the abbreviation of Graduate Assessment Test-Subject. This test is mainly held for the students looking for the admission in PhD programs. For this purpose, Higher Education Commission (HEC) has given the responsibility of conducting GAT subject test to National Testing Services Pakistan. NTS hold GAT-Subject test by the same procedure as it conducts the GRE test. The aspirants who want to get admission in any
PhD program are required to appear in GAT-Subject test conducted by NTS.

Graduate Assessment Test (Subject) assists the students to appraise, analyze, securitize, understand the relationships as well as take to mean material an accurate zone of study.
- GAT Subject is compulsory test that is required by Higher Education Commission for the admission in any postgraduate study program or PhD program in Pakistan.
- Every candidate is required to qualify the GAT subject test before admission in PhD level.
- GAT subject assist the university or any research educational institute to appraise and consider the problem solving, analyzing, understanding of relationships capabilities of a candidate to assess his or her ability for overlook course work in a particular zone of study.
While applying for the admission, all the candidates are required to follow the admission schedule of the corresponding universities together with photocopy of NTS GAT-Subject result along with admission form. Appearance in GAT-subject Exam at least once is compulsory for the students to get admission in any NTS associated university or institute.
