In line with its strategy, the Bank is looking for talented, dedicated, and experienced professional(s) for the following position in Risk Management, based at Karachi.

Educational / Professional Qualification

• Minimum Graduation or equivalent from a local or international university/college/institute recognized by the HEC of Pakistan.

• Preferred: Graduation or Master's degree in Finance and/or Economics and/or Environmental Sciences and/or Sustainable Development and/or Climate Change and/or Development Studies and/or Public Policy and/or Environmental Economics and/or Climate Finance and/or Environmental Management and/or Development Finance.

• Preferred Certifications: CFA Certificate in ESG Investing / Climate & Sustainable Investing; GARP Sustainability and Climate Risk (SCR); GRI, SASB/ISSB, or TCFD reporting certifications; Environmental and Social Risk Management (ESRM) or IFC Performance Standards training.

Experience

• Minimum 10 years of experience with at least 4 years in Green Finance, Climate Finance, ESG Strategy Development, and/or Renewable Energy-related Project Finance.

• Experience with Development Organizations, Multilateral Agencies, Consultancy/Advisory Services, International NGOs (e.g., UNDP, UNEP, World Bank, ADB, IFC, GIZ, FCDO), or Financial Institutions implementing sustainable finance frameworks.

Other Skills / Expertise / Knowledge

• Exposure to climate funds (GCF, GEF, Adaptation Fund), ESG Frameworks, Green Taxonomies, and SBP's Green Banking Guidelines — strong advantage.

• Sound working knowledge of ESG, climate finance, and sustainability concepts, including IFRS S1/S2 (ISSB), GRI, and TCFD, plus SBP's Green Banking Guidelines and Green Taxonomy.

• Strong analytical and data management skills; ability to handle large, complex datasets and translate findings into reports, dashboards, and presentations for senior management and external stakeholders.

• Demonstrated project management and stakeholder engagement experience.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to prepare policy briefs and concept notes.

• Training in environmental and social risk assessment, climate risk analysis, or results-based M&E — added advantage.

Outline of Main Duties / Responsibilities — Detailed

1. Lead the design and implementation of the Bank's ESG and sustainability reporting framework, including policies, procedures, governance structure, standards, and reporting requirements in line with SBP guidelines and international IFRS S1/S2.

2. Coordinate with business support functions to collect, validate, and consolidate ESG and climate-related data across the Bank.

3. Prepare ESG disclosures and sustainability reports for Senior Management, the Board and its Committees, regulators, and other stakeholders.

4. Track international developments in ESG, sustainable finance, and climate regulation and assess their implications for the Bank.

5. Establish robust ESG data management, metrics, and reporting controls to ensure accuracy, consistency, and reliability of disclosed information.

6. Partner with Finance, Business, HR, Operations, Compliance, and other functions to identify, measure, report material ESG risks, opportunities, and key performance indicators.

7. Support integration of environmental, social, and climate-related considerations into the Bank's risk management framework, credit processes, and business strategy.

8. Contribute to the Bank's sustainable and green finance agenda — green product development, alignment with SBP Green Taxonomy, and engagement with development partners and climate funds — through measurement, reporting, and analytical support.

9. Build ESG capacity across the Bank through guidance, awareness sessions, and training; develop processes and tools to embed sustainability into day-to-day operations.

10. Liaise with Internal Audit, Compliance, and other assurance functions on ESG-related observations; ensure gaps are addressed through clear action plans and timely closure.

11. Serve as the Bank's point of contact with SBP and other regulatory/stakeholder bodies on ESG reporting, regulatory requirements, information requests, and implementation of applicable guidelines.

12. Perform any other assignment as assigned by the supervisor(s).

• Employment will be on a contractual basis for three years, renewable at Management's discretion.
