MINISTRY OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY – GOVERNMENT OF PAKISTAN

Applications are invited from Pakistani Nationals for the following specialized contractual positions under the federally funded PSDP Project titled: "Cultivation & Processing of Medicinal & Industrial Cannabis on Experimental Fields and Establishment of Testing and Product Development Facilities (PCSIR & Arid Agriculture University)." Positions are based at the PCSIR Laboratories Complex, Lahore on a lump-sum pay basis.

POSITION DETAILS & JOB SPECIFICATIONS

1. Research Officer

• No. of Posts: 01

• Educational Qualification: M.Phil. in Microbiology.

• Experience Metric: 3 to 4 years of professional experience in Research & Development (R&D) organizations, with a strong preference given to those who have previously worked on PSDP Projects.

• Core Responsibilities:

  • Must possess advanced technical knowledge regarding the operations of highly precise analytical laboratory equipment.

  • Responsible for managing quality assurance protocols of biological products developed through industrial fermentation processing.

2. Technician (Agricultural Track)

• No. of Posts: 01

• Educational Qualification: B.Sc. / BS in Agriculture.

• Experience Metric: Preferably a minimum of 2 to 3 years of hands-on experience in agriculture or plant breeding fields.

• Core Responsibilities:

  • Manage plant lifecycle processes and track associated chemical/biological reactions.

  • Assist in the cultivation, strategic harvesting, and raw processing of experimental agricultural crops under regulated field conditions.

  • Safely handle raw materials and execute controlled chemical reactions as dictated by project parameters.

3. Technician (Textile Track)

• No. of Posts: 01

• Educational Qualification: B.Sc. / BS in Textile Engineering.

• Experience Metric: Preferably a minimum of 2 to 3 years of practical experience working with textile machinery, industrial fiber processing, spinning systems, and manufacturing setups.

• Core Responsibilities:

  • Extraction of hemp fiber and spinning it into high-tensile string profiles (Candidates with practical experience here will be heavily preferred).

  • Assist in the practical design, modification, and development of specialized mechanical fiber extraction machinery.

CRITICAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS

?? No Regularization Guardrail: These positions are sanctioned purely on a contract basis for a stipulated period linked to project funding. There is absolutely no provision or promise for these roles to be regularized into permanent government service at any stage.

• Contract Duration: Initially for a period of 12 months, extendable for another year based on performance evaluations until project completion.

• Selection Standard: Merit-based evaluations. Only shortlisted profiles will be contacted for the final test or interview phase.

• Government Employees: Candidates currently in public or autonomous service must apply through the proper channel using a valid NOC.

• Logistics & Postings: No TA/DA is admissible for tests or interviews. Selected candidates can be redeployed to any PCSIR Laboratories branch across Pakistan if project workflows dictate.
