Provincial Assembly of Khyber Pakhtunkhawa is an executive governing body for the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhawa. It has power of doing legalization. It was established by the British Government in 1901. According to Government of India which was passed in 1935, this Assembly was provided with more rights and recognized as the public representative of the area. It is usually headed by executive by the major political party. He is called Speaker of the Assembly. Additionally, deputy speakers are elected for assisting him for the various functions. Head of the provincial government is called Chief Minister. He has authority of forming government. Other political parties which gains less seats in the Provincial Assembly forms Opposition.
