Port Qasim Authority (PQA), Bin Qasim, Karachi – Employment Opportunity

Port Qasim Authority is seeking a highly qualified and experienced professional for the role of Project Director (VTMS) to oversee planning, implementation, and execution of its maritime infrastructure projects, including VTMS (Vessel Traffic Management System), Marine Dredging, and related electronic systems.

Position: Project Director (VTMS)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the planning, execution, and enforcement of maritime infrastructure projects.
  • Oversee electronic and marine systems including VTMS, Marine Dredging, and port electronic systems.
  • Ensure coordination with stakeholders, regulatory authorities, and vendors.
  • Maintain compliance with maritime rules, regulatory standards, and security protocols.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Educational Qualification:
    • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Maritime Engineering, or Project Management from an HEC-recognized institute.
    • Preference will be given to candidates with professional maritime qualifications.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in maritime infrastructure and port operations.
    • Proven experience in managing complex maritime projects and electronic systems.
    • Progressive leadership experience of 19 years is highly desirable.
    • Experience in public sector organizations, regulatory authorities, and working with international vendors is an advantage.
  • Skills & Competencies:
    • Strong leadership and project management capabilities.
    • Ability to coordinate with stakeholders including internal teams and external partners.
    • Knowledge of maritime electronics, port control systems, and international standards.
    • Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and project management tools.

Contract & Job Nature:

  • Contract basis, tenure as per organizational requirement.
  • The position involves technical and managerial responsibilities, coordinating with various stakeholders in both local and international contexts.
