Ministry of Planning, Development & Special Initiatives (Planning Commission)

Project: Integrated Flood Resilience and Adaptation Project (IFRAP) / Uraan Pakistan

Funding Source: World Bank-financed

The Ministry of Planning, Development & Special Initiatives (MoPDSI) / Planning Commission is seeking applications from highly accomplished and visionary professionals for a prestigious leadership role. This national initiative aims to strengthen Pakistan's resilience to climate-induced floods and advance sustainable development.

Position Details

Project Director (FPMU - IFRAP)

  • Number of Posts: 01

  • Remuneration: Equivalent to the PPS-12 salary package, or as approved in the PC-I.

Eligibility Criteria

1. Qualification & Education

  • Degree Required: Master's or BS (4 years) degree.

  • Eligible Disciplines: Project Management, Business Administration, Public Policy, International Relations, Rural/International Development, Political Science, Law, Development Management, Social/Management Sciences, or any relevant discipline.

  • Institution: Must be from a Higher Education Commission (HEC) recognized institution.

2. Professional Experience

  • Duration: Minimum of 15 years of professional experience at the international, national, or provincial level.

  • Core Competencies:

    • Demonstrated experience managing PSDP (Public Sector Development Programme) and/or foreign-funded projects.

    • Proven track record in effective monitoring, planning, administration, procurement, and the preparation/execution of annual work plans and budgets.

    • Strong familiarity with project management, including expert-level negotiation and coordination skills with international financial institutions (IFIs), federal/provincial governments, and non-government stakeholders.
