Career Opportunity

Position: Member (Water), WAPDA

?? Position Title

Member (Water)
(Equivalent to BPS-21)

?? Qualification

A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Water Resources Management, Hydrology, or any other related field from an HEC-recognized institution or international equivalent.

Higher qualifications will be given preference.

?? Experience

Minimum 20 years of professional experience in the water sector, including:

Planning, execution, and management of large-scale water and power infrastructure projects.

At least 5 years in a senior leadership/management position.

Experience of working in or with government institutions, regulatory bodies, or public sector enterprises will be considered an advantage.

??? Key Responsibilities / Job Description

As Member (Water), the selected individual will:

Oversee planning, design, development, and implementation of hydropower and water projects under WAPDA.

Coordinate and liaise with federal/provincial governments and relevant stakeholders.

Ensure alignment of water infrastructure initiatives with national policy and planning frameworks.

Lead strategic initiatives in water conservation, dam construction, irrigation systems, and related domains.

Monitor progress, address project challenges, and guide technical and operational teams.

Support formulation and implementation of long-term water resource strategies.

Represent WAPDA in national and international forums, as required.

?? Regional / Provincial Quota

Appointment will be made based on Federal/Provincial quota, as per government rules.

?? Remuneration

Appointment will be made at MP-1 / BPS-21 level.

Salary and benefits will be as per Government of Pakistan/WAPDA policies applicable for the position.
