The Pakistan National Shipping Corporation "PNSC" Group of companies, as the National Flag Carrier undertakes global shipping operations and is presently going through period of accelerated growth to meet challenges. PNSC requires a high calibre and result oriented professional for the position of:

MANAGER (STEVEDORING)

Overall supervision of stevedoring operation. Handling finance pertaining to stevedoring operation. Arrangement/ decision of no of KDLB gangs for day/night shifts considering cargo in hold, consignee /receiver’s requirement & transport available. Acts as a focal point for any stevedoring issues that may arise with assigned vessel. Supervise and coordinates activities of Stevedore engaged in loading unloading ship’s cargoes. Interact with transporters for timely arrangement /delivery of cargo. Maintain inventory of dunnage & cargo handling equipment. Determine what cargo requires special handling, how it is to be stowed in ships hold. Directing and managing the performance of a dedicated team engaged in the task of loading and unloading a vessel. Ensuring the safety of the team through appropriate communication of standards and procedures, pre-shift safety briefings and on the job guidance Complete required documentation associated with operations in an accurate& timely manner. Any other task assigned by the Management.

 

The Candidate should be:

Master's Degree from HEC recognized university. At least 5 years' experience as Manager in a reputable shipping company with direct supervision in stevedoring work. OR Master Mariner COC Class 1 (FG). At least 5 years' experience as Manager in reputable shipping company looking after ship operations, agency or stevedoring work. Good knowledge of KDLB wages / rules & regulations. Strong interpersonal, problem solving and decision making skills. Age not more than 55 Years at the time of applying.

Note:

  • Appointment will be on contract, initially for a period of two years extendable with mutual consent. Selected candidates will be offered market-based remuneration package, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
  • Candidates having exposure of ERP environment shall be given preference.
