SITUATION VACANT

Applications are invited from suitable candidates for the post of Legal Consultant on a fixed pay and contract basis for a period of two (02) years, extendable based on satisfactory performance in the Election Commission.

Legal Consultant

Fixed Pay:
PKR 25,000 (negotiable)

Qualification & Experience:

  • LLM/LLB with 25 years of post-qualification experience in the relevant field.

Domicile:
Applicants from all over the country are eligible.

Place of Posting:
May be anywhere in Pakistan where the position exists, including cases related to the Supreme Court of Pakistan and High Courts.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Providing legal opinions on all constitutional and legal matters.
  • Any other legal work assigned by the Commission.

The Legal Consultant will work under the Election Commission of Pakistan.

Eligibility Criteria:

  1. No person shall be eligible for appointment as a Legal Consultant if they have been dismissed from Government service or have unsatisfactory performance or moral turpitude.
  2. The candidates must declare any disciplinary proceedings or conflicts of interest.
  3. Candidates currently employed must provide an affidavit declaring they are not involved in any service, business, or vocation that conflicts with the role of Legal Consultant.
  4. The contract may be terminated upon completion or by giving one month's notice.
  5. Monitoring of performance will be carried out by the Honorable Chief Election Commissioner.

General Terms:

  • Age relaxation of 5 years is applicable as per the Appointment to Civil Posts (Relaxation of Upper Age Limit) Rules, 1963.
  • Applications should be submitted through the ECP's online recruitment system by visiting www.ecp.gov.pk within 20 days of the advertisement's publication in the newspapers.
  • Applicants who apply online must also submit hard copies of the application, CV, attested copies of all educational documents, experience certificates, CNIC, one passport-size photograph, and domicile to P.O. Box No. 1418, GPO, Islamabad within 30 days of publication.
  • Applications received after the cut-off date will not be entertained.
